Mumbai, March 14: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan surprised everyone by introducing his special friend Gauri to the media ahead of his 60th birthday. The incident came after the superstar’s ex-wife and ‘Missing Ladies’ director Kiran Rao announced their divorce in 2021 after 16 years of marriage.
Gauri is the third important woman in Aamir’s life. The actor was first married to Reena Dutta, and later married Kiran Rao. Interestingly, Aamir met Kiran on the sets of the Oscar-nominated film ‘Lagaan’, in which his first wife Reena was also associated as an executive producer.
Aamir was married to both Reena and Kiran for 16 years each, after which they decided to separate. He has two children with Reena—Junaid and Ira Khan. Junaid recently starred in ‘Loveyaapa’ and his debut streaming film ‘Maharaj’, while Ira married fitness expert Nupur Shikhare last year. He has a son, Azad, with Kiran, whom they raise together even after their divorce.
There have also been rumours of the superstar’s relationship, especially with his Dangal co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh, though he has never commented on it. Aamir confirmed that Gauri is an old friend of his, and they reconnected a year ago. His cousin Nuzhat Khan, who is also Gauri’s friend, arranged their reunion when Gauri came to Mumbai a few years ago.
Gauri, who is a mother to a six-year-old son, looked quite nervous in front of the media. Even Aamir’s PR team had to intervene and urge the media to be patient. During the conversation, Aamir also revealed that Gauri has met two of Bollywood’s biggest superstars—Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
